Along-side a diverse team of designers, I helped design a product, platform, and a service for future physicians
Work on this project was done alongside the following team members: Reeha Das, Eleanor Putcha, and Dylan Maltry
Overview
Incision AR is a service that integrates AR responsive tools which simulate complicated, high-risk surgeries accompanied by training resources (such as instructors, online tools, and ongoing support) to help the technology be successfully implemented in hospitals and medical institutions.
Limited Cadavers to Practice
Surgical practice on cadavers can cause stress which disables the ability to learn with confidence, thus residence learn on plastic models.
Even when residents practice on cadavers, there is no scope of productive failure as there are limited cadavers.
It is unethical to practice on multiple bodies, thus residency students do not get enough practice before they become real surgeons.
When looking at the current medical student journey, we noticed some opportunity gaps where Incision AR would fit to help improve the readiness of the student before performing surgeries on actual patients
